Frequently Asked Questions

Conference

What is bbcon?
bbcon is the tech conference for a better world.

With sessions for arts and cultural organisations, cause-based nonprofits, educational institutions, faith communities, healthcare organisations, foundations, and corporate giving, this conference provides an unmatched experience for all social good professionals.

We’re excited to announce that we’re shifting bbcon 2020 from a physical setting to a global virtual gathering 6–8 October.
We understand that risks associated with large-scale live events this year remain unknown, and we also recognise that many organisations face tough budget decisions, especially related to travel and professional development opportunities. We’re committed to bringing you the latest tools and industry trends and facilitating invaluable connections with peers—and we’re committed to doing that safely.

Is bbcon taking place in Sydney 2020?
No. bbcon Sydney has been cancelled for this year. Bbcon now will take place as a global virtual gathering 6-8 October 2020 (not 22-23 September as originally planned for our live event). This online-only event will unite the social good community from all over the world for three days of thought leadership and best practices, technology trends and innovations, and peer networking.

Why should I attend the global virtual bbcon?
This online-only event will unite the social good community for three days of thought leadership and best practices, technology trends and innovations, and peer networking.

What are the dates for bbcon 2020 virtual?
The event will take place 6-8 October 2020 virtually (not 22-23 September as originally planned for our in-person Sydney event).

Why did Blackbaud decide to pivot the live conference to a virtual experience?
We want to connect as many people in the social good community as possible, and we want to do it safely, so in light of COVID-19, bbcon is now proceeding as a global virtual gathering.

We’re excited to deliver bbcon 2020 unconstrained by physical limitations. We recognise the unique opportunity to connect more people in the social good community with thought leadership and best practices, technology trends and innovations, and peer networking in a reimagined format.

When will more details be revealed?
Full details on the bbcon virtual experience, including sessions, will roll out in July.
